    Earth Waters Our Lives

    This module introduces the learners to the most important resource available to us - Water. Without this resource, life as we know it will cease to exist. It rejuvenates, replenishes and upholds the systems that maintain our ecosystem functioning and livelihood. 
    This module brings learners into this world through practical activities whereby they explore the importance of sustaining our water resources as well as some of the consequences of poor management. But most of all, this module teaches us to value water as a resource.

    Food for the Future

    This module, allows students to explore where their food comes from. Students learn the history of agriculture, how humans have fed themselves over the last few thousand years and discover that agriculture has changed dramatically in the last 50 years. Students then learn how something very small - a seed - is very important and why they need to store seeds. Finally - the module ends off with learners exploring the concept of food security and look at some of the causes of food insecurity.

    From Linear to Circular – A Product Redesign

    How much do we really know about how the everyday products we use were actually made; or where the material needed is sourced; or who was involved in the processes that brought the product into your hands? This module takes the learners on a journey of unpacking all the details of the processes and resources used in producing, transporting and disposing everyday products.

    Learners are tasked with identifying a product they use relatively often, and modifying it to become less harmful on the environment and human health; more local, and to become a part of the functioning and growing Circular Economy.

    This project encompasses Project-based Learning and challenges the learners to learn through the process of better understanding how a particular product is made and then attempting to better that to be geared toward a more sustainable future.

    Fueling society

    In this module, students learn about natural resources that humans dig out the ground (such as coal) or pump (such as oil or natural gas) from the Earth's crust. They then learn about the power of the atom and how beneficial and how lethal (in the long term) nuclear energy can be. Students then explore alternative technologies in electricity generation.

    Getting Around

    In this module, students cover traditional fossil-fuel-powered vehicles and then start reviewing the most common alternative vehicles. Students then explore how transportation systems have evolved as human populations have transitioned from most people living in rural areas to more people living in urban areas.

    Green Spaces

    This one-lesson module deals with an ever-evolving and exciting topic - Sustainable Urban Planning & Green Cities. This will be a prevailing topic in years to come as cities grapple with the large challenges associated with human impact. More so than ever, we are required to develop innovative solutions for large scale urban challenges.

    Introducing Sustainable Intelligence – Middle School

    This lesson sets the stage for students to develop sustainable intelligence. They begin by playing an interactive game that illustrates how innocent actions can turn into unsustainable practices that impact everyone and the Earth we call home. Students then discuss how the game illustrates a concept called the tragedy of the commons. Next, they watch a video and discuss the concept of sustainability. Together, the elements of this lesson help students create a base of understanding from which they can begin to exercise sustainability thinking as they analyse and explore a range of topics and apply what they learn in their everyday lives.

    Sensing Air Quality

    In this module, students explore air as a type of matter. They learn about the concept of air quality and participate in activities that explain how different smells travel through the air. They then discuss the importance of clean air and figure ways to respect others by caring for air quality.

    Sustainable Resource Use

    This 8-part module challenges the learners to identify a local waste issue in their community/school and develop a contextualised waste campaign to create awareness and action within their community/school. Through this learner-driven process, the learners will uncover the process that most waste undergoes from natural resource extraction to waste disposal. They will link the concepts of waste and natural resources together in the process of developing a waste campaign. 

    This module embraces Project-based learning, a methodology which challenges the learners to think outside the box and learn through the process, rather than through information reception. It is relevant and exceptionally engaging for the learners involved.

    The Importance of Public Spaces

    In highly populated and dense urban areas, public space can be a necessity. This module explores how public spaces can aid communities and help people within those communities sustain happy and healthy lifestyles.

    Trash or Treasure?

    This module, explains why it is important to be concerned about what happens to our waste. In each lesson, students rethink waste and look at solutions using the 5 R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rot and Reflect.

    Waste & Energy

    This module combines two related topics - Waste and Energy, to explore the relationship that they have with each other and subsequently, the impact that they pose to our environment and society. Learners in this module will engage with both challenges and solutions related to waste, whilst narrowing in on some of the more hazardous types of waste.

    Air is the most abundant available resource to us. But how much do we really understand about the finite balance and impact that it holds on the health of the ecosystem and ourselves? 
    This module explores Air Quality and the types of gases that make up the air that we breathe.
