Module 4 of 6. In this module, students begin generating solutions to the design question they explored in Module 3. They look at several ideas from different perspectives, examining the assumptions and beliefs they bring to those ideas. Students organize their ideas around themes and pick one as the design solution that best fits their priorities. Then they make their design solution idea more tangible with a sketch, talking points, and quick model. Students refine and improve their solution idea by soliciting feedback from their peers.

Module 5 of 6. In this module,students take their chosen design solution to another level by assessing its strengths and weaknesses against the triple-bottom line, by creating a business model to describe their fine-tuned plan, by prototyping and iterating, and then by creating a strategic action plan. With continuous feedback from their stakeholders, this module helps convert their idea into reality and prepares them to begin sharing and selling their solutions in the final module.

Module 3 of 6. The purpose of this module is for students to explore in greater depth the design problem that interests them. Continue to encourage students to avoid thinking of solutions - that will happen in the next module. For now, they are looking at various aspects and angles of the problem itself to form a better understanding of the problem and to develop empathy for people who are affected by it. Students participate in various activities and conduct research to better understand the problem, to gain insights and build empathy with stakeholders, and to investigate existing design solutions.

Module 2 of 6. The purpose of this module is for students to discover who they are and what they are passionate about. Over the course of the module, students will begin to understand the correlation between personal and organizational business modeling as well as the importance of self-reflection. The module ends with students formulating a design question to help them address a real-world social or environmental problem they want to solve.

Module 6 of 6. In this final module, students learn how to share information about their business solutions in a clear and effective manner. Students create an informational presentation, an elevator pitch, an executive summary, a brand identity kit, and other materials to help them effectively promote their business. Then they plan and execute a launch party to share their business product, service, or concept with the community.
